Just when you thought that ya heard it all…
Police say Monday’s shooting at a San Bernardino, Calif. elementary school was a domestic dispute between a man and his estranged wife.
Investigators say Cedric Anderson, 53, wasn’t targeting students when he walked into a classroom at North Park elementary and shot Karen Smith to death.
Anderson, 53, then turned the gun on himself inside the classroom.
Smith, 53, was a special education teacher at the school.
Also shot was student Jonathan Martinez, 8, who later died. Another student, a 9-year-old boy, was wounded in the shooting. He is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Police say the boys were standing behind Smith when they were shot by stray bullets.
15 students and two adult aides were in the class at the time of the shooting at 10:27 a.m. CST.
San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said Anderson followed procedures by signing in and showing his ID at the school’s main office. He then proceeded to the classroom where he opened fire without saying anything.
