More than 50 people died in three separate attacks in Kabul on Friday alone. A NATO base and a police training academy were targeted. A truck bomb was also detonated.
Experts think they could be evidence of a power struggle following news of the death of Taliban leader Mullah Omar two weeks ago.
The news has cast uncertainty over the already fragile peace talks.
