British Soul singer Adele turned heads this past week in the news when she told a crowd of fans in Los Angeles, that the NFL had reached out to her & asked if she would perform at the Super Bowl and her reply was, No.
The revelation was so nonchalant and matter of fact how she described the encounter, starting out by exclaiming she wont be performing at the Super Bowl, as if anybody was wondering! Then she went on in a slight rant explaining why.
“Well, come on, that show is not about music!”
“And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”
Sitting in the Audience I’d be confused as to why she was even mentioning it, it’s like who gets hype for turning down the Super Bowl. It’s like saying I’m awesome and this is how much more Awesome I could be, if I wasn’t such an under achiever. The Super Bowl Half Time show is like the Holy Grail of stages for artist to perform at, and to be quite honest it was quite arrogant of her to say out loud. Which is why it may have touched the nerve of more then a few fans.
Let them tell you, no one in her camp including Adele could’ve guess what would happen next. So thing is, the NFL & it’s lead sponsor Pepsi didn’t appreciate what Adele had to say about turning down the Super Bowl. And both parties released a joint statement denying ever making a formal offer to her or anyone else as of yet. So to sum things up, they don’t know what the f**k Adele talking about. According to them she talking way out the side of her neck & is apparently lost in the sauce.
